Biomass Boilers

boilersWe have thoroughly researched the Biomass Boiler market and are pleased to offer a range of high quality boilers from HDG Bavaria, a German manufacturer and SolarFocus Gmbh from Austria. To date we have installed a number of pellet, woodchip and split log boilers in Cornwall and have gained MCS Certification  as an approved Biomass Installer, this means that our customers may qualify for the proposed Government Feed In Tariff which is soon to be announced.   We have some working boilers  available for inspection here at our premises by appointment and we can arrange visits to our local installations upon request.

We offer boiler combinations with heat output from 12Kw to 200Kw suitable for heating a large thermal store and supplying all needs for domestic hot water, under floor heating, central heating and even your swimming pool, office complex, school, milking parlour etc etc.

There are a range of benefits of using wood biomass energy as listed below.

  • Long term supply: The availability of fossil fuels is limited. Wood is a renewable and sustainable heating source and can replace fossil fuels such as coal, peat and oil and gas/LPG.
  • Low Emissions:  Wood is a clean and environmentally safe fuel. According to the carbon cycle, the net emmissions from modern wood combustion systems are very low.
  • Improved woodland management: Creating a market for wood gives an incentive to woodland owners to manage their woods. Woodlands benefit from thinning which in turn benefits wildlife.
  • Local Economic Benefits: Wood energy is  most cost effective when a local fuel source is used.

Those who consider the impact on nature are acting to help future generations.  The increasing number of catastrophes due to storms and floods gives an idea of how expensive a disregard of nature can be to us.
Wood Boiler has Additional Avantages

The burning of wood generates lower sulphur dioxide emissions as compared to heating with fossil fuels.

Wood is transported over shorter distances from domestic woodlands and thus strengthens the regional economy. But don’t worry about disappearing forests; more Split log woodwood is grown each year than we consume. Opt for renewable resources. Choose an HDG split log wood boiler.
Wood is Stored Solar Energy

Heating with a wood boiler is in harmony with nature. This is because central heating with split wood logs, only releases the quantity of CO2 that the tree removed from the atmosphere as it grew.

With the burning of crude oil and natural gas, however, CO2 reserves that have been stored for millions of years are released into the atmosphere in great quantities. This CO2 increases what’s called the greenhouse effect.

The changing of peoples ideas in the UK that split log boilers are sensible is now a reality, with the range of central heating wood boilers brought to you by Euroheat and manufactured by HDG.
Brought to you by Euroheat, a long established UK company, the HDG range has been a decisive force behind the development of split wood boilers over the last three decades. Our many years of experience is the basis for the famous quality of our products and the key to success with our customers. HDG split wood log boilers offer users the following features:

  • Individually adaptable thermal performance and excellent degree of efficiency.
  • Low emission values.
  • Uncompromising safety engineering.
  • Solid workmanship and durability.
  • Highly efficient operation over the entire useful life.
  • High level of convenience and easy to operate.

New Biomass Boiler range from SolarFocus Gmbh of Austria

We are pleased to announce that we have another Biomass boiler manufacturer product range to offer to our customers.

SOLARFOCUS Gmbh of Austria design and manufacture  high quality biomass boilers and ultra efficient Solar thermal panels.

The boiler range includes Pellet boilers, Log burners and a mixture of  both pellet and log burners and  the Octo Plusa unique all in one pellet boiler with integral 500 liter accumulator tank incorporating solar fittings to link directly to thermal solar panels. Some details are outlined below more to follow soon on our new WendronBiomass.com web site currently under construction.

LOG WOOD BOILER

Log wood is particularly eco-friendly because no energy consuming processing is required.

SOLARFOCUS log wood boilers – sophisticated design for your comfort, and a long life expectancy:

excellent combustion at highest temperatures (1000-1200°C by downfiring combustion technology / wood gasification technology),
constant high efficiencies thanks to the patented automatic heat exchanger cleaning,
easy and intuitive boiler control.

SOLARFOCUS log wood boilers have the following certifications:

Trennlinie

therminator Stückgut therminator I log wood boiler
the therminator I offers the opportunity to fill the same filling chamber either automatically or manually. Available power ratings: 9,4-20 kW, 14-30 kW und 16-40 kW.

Trennlinie

therminator II Stückgut therminator II log wood boiler

The therminator II offers a generous stainless steel filling chamber, suitable for 0.5 m long logs. Available power ratings: 27 kW, 36 kW, 49 kW and 60 kW.

PELLET TOP

The pellet boiler pellettop offers you the comfort of a fully automatic heating system. Due to the dowfiring combustion technology and the controlled combustion, efficiencies up to 94.9% can be reached.

Highest efficiencies – Compact construction – Cutting-edge boiler control!

The benefits:

Can be placed anywhere: space-saving and compact construction
Easy and intuitive boiler control: ecomanager
Constant high efficiencies: patented, fully automatic heat exchanger cleaning guarantees a constant heat exchange at a high level
Excellent combustion at highest temperatures (1000-1200°C by downward combustion technology / wood gasification technology)
Patented Lambda sensor technology, well-proven since 1981
Continuously variable ID fan
Fuel can be transported via vacuum system or screw conveyor
Single axis rotary star wheel (100% back burning protection)

Heating cycle 1 Control of the pellets boiler pellettop
The ecomanager is the heart of the pellet boiler. Its control is very easy thanks to the control knob and the full-graphic display with backlight. Among the strengths of theecomanager are the fully digital combustion regulation, the integrated solar controller (optional) and the weather-controlled heating circuit regulation. Option: the heating circuit regulation is upgradable to 8 heating circuits

OCTO PLUS

The pellet boiler octoplus offers the comfort of a fully automatic power plant (500 l buffer tank with a generous solar register + pellets burner). The octoplus combines solar and pellet technology in perfect unity. The directly flange connected pellets burner unit balances the temperature difference as required. The optimum use of solar energy is thus achieved. Due to the downfiring combustion technology and the controlled combustion, efficiencies up to 94% can be reached.

Wood chip  Advantages

Easy to produce locally from woodland thinnings etc

Cheaper fuel costs.

Disadvantages

Can require greater user input, dependent on quality of fuel

System has higher capital cost due to larger storage capacity and robust fuel handling equipment.

Need a specialist chipper

More suitable for a larger installations eg over 25kw output

Wood Pellets Advantages

User input reduced to basic cleaning and ash removal ( this can be automated to some degree in many models)

Cheaper capital costs due to the drier and more homogeneous nature of the fuel.

Denser fuel means reduced storage space and easier transport.

Suitable for small to medium appliances e.g under 300kW.

Disadvantages

Slightly more expensive than wood chip

Logs Advantages

Logs can  be stored and transported conveniently when stacked.

Ease of air passage through a log pile allows good drying compared with chip.

Can be effectively produced on site or locally

Disadvantages

Less suitable for automated systems (although some do exist)

Large storage space required to allow 1-2 years for seasoning
